P90X and Tracy Anderson Method

Unfortunately I had to stop with the P90X. I have an old ankle injury that is giving me trouble so I have to give it a rest for now. I really wasn't seeing any results anyways. Like I said before, I didn't push too hard because I didn't want to bulk up. So I searched around and found a new workout I can do and still rest my ankle. It's called Tracy Anderson Method .

She is all about looking feminine and NOT bulking up. She wants you to be fit and sexy. I really like that idea. Anyways, looking around at what other people said about her method, I found that you should start with the mat workout and do it four to six times a week. So I purchased the DVD on Amazon and it arrived today!

I popped it into the DVD player and away I went. MAN does she make you hurt!!! (It's a good pain though.) I plan on doing it six times a week (with Sundays being my off days). I will be letting you know every Friday how things are going.  Cross fingers that I have no more injury!

Also today is Freebie Friday! I know that I haven't done anything in a while and I'm sorry. I will be more faithful in doing it from now on. Today I have for you a schedule. What I did was printed out one copy and put it in a plastic sheet protector. That way I can use a dry erase marker and write in my to do's and just erase them when they are done.

Every night, before bed, I write down tomorrow's events. Then, on the right side, I have places for you to write something to do for your husband, kids, self, work, exercise, and housework. I pick things that I can do in 15 minutes, like paint my nails. Here is the link to the schedule. Have fun!

Updates

So today I wanted to give you a few updates.

First is an update on my P90X workout. I have been following the program for 30 days (taking a week off when I hurt my neck) and now I am moving into phase two. So far so good. I am not pushing too hard because I don't want to bulk up but I can now do 5 pull ups! Before I couldn't even do one. As far as weight loss goes, I am still at the same weight but I have lost a few inches in my waist and gain an inch in my biceps! So I'm marching forward and sticking with it. I will update again when I start phase three.

Now about wordpress. I did some research and found that you just can't customize wordpress like you can blogger. You are limited with banner size and background choices. And if you want to customize all that stuff you have to pay for a host which is like $5 a month. I'm not ready to pay for my blog when I have a perfectly good (free) one right here at blogger. So I'm staying here for now.

How much is too much?

So here I sit at the doctors office for a checkup and I'm blogging. I recently got an iPhone and what a difference! But it makes me ask the question, "how much is to much?"

Let me explain my decision to get the phone in the first place. My at home business is really picking up. So much so that it's hard for me to keep up. Well my business is also Internet and email heavy. If I miss a clients email that could possibly lose the job for me. So in plays the phone. Now I can go anywhere (like the doctors) and not miss anything. Priceless.

But all the other stuff that this phone can do is just overwhelming! You can listen to Internet radio while reading the bible and harvesting your crops! Do we really need all that with us all the time? And will all the entertainment in my hands just calling out to me take time away from my kids cause it's just right there? I just don't know.....

I do know one thing. It's been fun blogging while waiting for the doc!!!!

Wordpress?????

So not much to say today except I was thinking about switching over to wordpress. I recently watched a video about SEO (search engine optimization) and they said that wordpress is more likely to come up in a search then blogger. Thoughts?

And I was just wondering how hard it is. I have two blogs that I will have to switch. Any help on this subject would be much appreciated.

Fit Mommy and P90X

Hello all! Today I have a couple things to share. First a little background info.

If you didn't ready know, I'm a mother of two boys (the youngest is 2). So after having my last baby, I dropped all but 10 pounds of the baby weight (which I think is pretty good). But in the last 6 months or so I have started to gain weight and I am now almost up to my pregnancy weight! I still can't believe I weigh as much as I did full term!!!! So that is why my posting today is about fitness.

I was surfing around the internet and come across (don't ask me how) this really great website for women who are looking to get pregnant, are pregnant right now, or have kids already and want to be healthy. The site is called Tight Bod with a Pod . It's a fun website all about fitness and health tips for moms or moms-to-be. You can sign up for their email updates (and I suggest that you do) and they send you great tips and recipes. They even have suggestions and resources on how to start mommy fitness groups in your area. Anyways, it's a great site and I hope you check it out.

So on to my next announcement. This one is exciting for me and I hope it ends well. Here is goes: I have started and will continue to do P90X!!! If you haven't seen the infomercials then let me explain. This is an extreme workout routine that is designed to get you in the best shape of your life in just 90 days. So I have been working out an hour or more a day doing push ups, crunches, pull ups, and weight lifting. Now when they say that is it extreme, they are not joking! I am now on week two and going strong (with my husband to help motivate me). I really want to make it the full 90 days and "graduate" from the program. I will keep you updated on my progress and maybe (if I'm brave enough) post some before and after pics. Wish me luck (I'm going to need it!).

I'm Back! (Well kind of)

So it's been a couple of months now since I've "seen the light" on the things that I need to change in my life. And for a while I was doing pretty good. I had a schedule and routine that I was sticking too and I was getting things done! All of a sudden, BAM!!!! Getting sick and two vacations later I can't even remember the definition of routine. How could months of work go down the drain in such a short amount of time? If someone can help me with tips on how to not let this happen again that would be greatly appreciated.

First things first, I have to get myself and my kids back on some sort of schedule: consistent wake up times, eating times, bed times. Second, I need to get back into the habits that I was trying to develop before: shining my sink and following Flylady.

And last but not lest, start blogging again. I have come across some great websites that I want to share. Also more improvements that I'm working on in my life that I would love to include you all on. I have not taken a break from the kitchen either so I have some recipes to share as well. So come back Monday for the start of it all!

Today is a recipe for the best cookies in the world! Normally I will try and post healthy recipes but today is all about the dessert! This recipe makes about 4 dozen cookies so it's about 1/2 stick of butter each dozen. Kind of healthy right?!?! Hope you try this out and enjoy!

Download recipe here

*Side note about the format of the recipe: as I stated before, I put my recipes in a small 3 ring binder. They are also formatted with a backside that includes a list of ingredients by category (to help with your grocery list)*

Great Blog shout out!

Today I would like to give a shout out to a blog a come across not too long ago: Tatertots and Jello .  Really some great stuff over there!

One post in particular caught my eye: Dinner Dilemmas Solution .This one was about what to cook for dinner. I really like this idea and kids can even help with it too. (Anything to get my kids involved and out of my hair!)

*Now every Friday I will be posting a new recipe with a printable copy that will fit into a 7 1/8 x 8 7/8 binder (I got mine at Target, but any small 3-ring binder will do). These recipes will include a printable tab for this idea. More on this to come.*

To iPad or not to iPad

So my small business from home is starting to take off. I am making (some) money now and can't decide what I should be doing with it. The way I figure it I have two options:

1. Invest it back into the company, purchasing things that will make my job easier. I could get some new equipment, such as the iPad. This would make things a whole lot easier (and portable) but really is more of a want then a need.

2. I could use it for my family. I could help pay the bills with it. Every little bit helps.

I really don't know what to do. I guess I could just save it but where is the fun in that. I REALLY WANT AN iPAD!!!! If anyone out there in internet world has a iPad or just has some thoughts on the subject, PLEASE leave a comment.

Please come back tomorrow. I will have a freebie posted!!!!

Finally got it the way I want it!

So this morning I have been searching for what my blog will look like. I found some great sites that helped me with backgrounds, headers, and buttons. I still have to add a few more features, but all in all, I am happy with the outcome. Here is a list of helpful blog template sites:

The Cutest Blog on the Block - Free Blog Backgrounds, layouts and more!

April Showers Blog Design

Allie Brown's Layouts

Aqua Poppy Designs: FREE blog backgrounds and more!

I hope these help with your blog! Also come back next week for some free recipe cards!

So this is what 7am looks like?

Yesterday I talked about FlyLady.net and how wonderful she is! Well today I'm going to tell you how I'm doing with her program.

One of the first things she says to do is get up and get dress (to shoes!) every morning. Now I'm a SAHM (stay at home mom) so for me getting dress is an option I usually opt out of. I LOVE my pj's, so if I don't have anywhere to be, why wouldn't I stay in them?  WRONG. She says that you will be less productive if you don't get dressed. Having now tried it, I feel definitely more motivated to get things done when I am dressed.

She also says to wake up AT LEAST 15 minutes before your family does (especially kids!).  This way you have time to yourself to get dressed and go over your daily plan (something I'm still working on).  So today I got up with my husband and got dressed. I had forgotten what 7am looked like. It's really not that bad, but today is only day one! We will see how I do today. Let's see how productive I am! I will post an update tomorrow.

Very First Post - All About Flylady!

So this very first post is about FlyLady.net! I have recently found this website and am a babyfly. Please do yourself a favor and go check out the website. Sign up for the email updates and start Flying!

You might be thinking that I'm crazy right now. "What the heck is FlyLady?!?" you might be saying.  Well this website is all about you removing the clutter and organizing not only your home but your life as well. For me this couldn't have come at a better time. Feeling like I'm drowning in my clutter and mess, I can start with small baby steps. Small steps and developing habits slowly but surely, working myself out of the mess and into a company ready home. Yes. I said COMPANY READY home. That would mean that my overly clean in-laws could come over at anytime and I would not feel ashamed! (That's my goal) Oh and I have to say that my husband, coming from a long line of overly clean relatives, is very...... unhappy with my mess. Don't get me wrong, it's his mess too but he is gone A LOT with work and school. When he is home, he does clean. Needless to say, I think our marriage could benefit from me being a bit more clean.

This website is also about feeling good about yourself, the power of positive thinking, and taking care of you. So go check it out!
